By default, every posts on your wordpress blog will create a link that is unfriendly to the search engine.
For example :
www.yourblog.com/?p=1
By applying a simple fix outlined below, every of your posts will create a link that’s not just friendly to the search engine but also to humans’ eyes. This is how it will look like:
www.yourblog.com/Your-Post-Title
Here’s how it can be done
- Login to your blog
- Go to Options tab and then Permalinks tab
- Select the Custom option and insert the following code: /%postname%/
- Now click on Update
- If your .htaccess file is not writeable, create the file as outlined in the box shown on the page
