HP Pavilion Webcam Driver Fix For Vista


Before you get mad for struggling to get the HP Pavilion’s webcam fixed in Windows Vista, here’s a simple and tricky solution to the problem.

How to fix HP Pavilion Webcam in Windows Vista:
USEFUL INFORMATIONS
Doing PMI-001 and 350-018 is not a big deal for a 70-284 student because basic exams like 650-393 and 70-271 as well as 70-293 cover all of the syllabus in an adequate manner.

1. Download the acer extensa chicony driver file above.
2. Unzip it to a folder on your desktop.
3. Run the “Setup.exe” file in the folder that got unzipped.
4. Go through the installer until it got to the end and then let it restart your computer.
5. Waited for your computer to restart.
6. It popped up something saying it was installing the drivers for your webcam. Wait until it’s done.
7. Open the Control Panel.
8. Open the Device Manager.

9. Find your webcam under “Imaging Devices”. It should listed as “HP Pavilion Webcam″ despite having just installed the Acer drivers.
10. Right-clicked on your webcam and choose “Update Driver Software…”
11. Choose “Browse my computer for driver software”
12. Choose “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer″
13. Unchecked the “Show compatible hardware” checkbox.
14. Scrolled down to the Chicony manufacturer.
15. Choose the “Acer Crystal Eye webcam.
16. Select install anyway when it asked you a question about installing that driver.
17. Wait for the driver to be installed.
18. Noted that your webcam should now listed as an Acer Crystal Eye webcam in Device Manager.

    It doens’t work for everyone. It didn’t for me with Chicony drivers 5.7 version. Something else has to be going on…
